Why having the owner on the floor every day changes everything.
Most childcare centres in Sydney's Inner West belong to multi-site corporate chains where centre managers rotate every few months and decisions are made in a head office kilometres away. At Strathfield Early Learning, owner Christine Girgis is on site every single day from opening to close. When you drop your child off at 7:00am with a complimentary barista coffee and warm muffin from our kitchen, you speak directly to the person who owns the building, hires the educators, sets the menu, and knows every child by name.
Our four-storey purpose-built campus at 522–528 Liverpool Road was designed specifically for early childhood education. Each age group has its own dedicated floor, natural light, acoustic separation from main-road traffic, indoor movement and theatrical stage spaces, and covered timber outdoor play decks with raised vegetable and herb garden beds.
Standard fee: $182.35/day before Child Care Subsidy. A calm, shoes-off nursery with a separate sleep cot room, consistent primary educators, infant THRASS sound and picture exposure from 6 months, sensory water and texture trays, nappies, wipes, and 5 fresh chef-prepared purées and meals daily.
Standard fee: $179.20/day before Child Care Subsidy. Designed around emerging language, gross-motor coordination, and independence. The only early learning centre in New South Wales teaching THRASS from 6 months.
Strathfield Early Learning is the only early childhood centre in New South Wales accredited to deliver the Teaching Handwriting, Reading and Spelling Skills (THRASS) phonetics programme starting from infancy (6 months of age) right through to Kindergarten transition. Rather than teaching children isolated letter names that have to be unlearned later, THRASS maps the 44 speech sounds (phonemes) of spoken English to their spelling choices (graphemes) through daily songs, stories, and visual charts.
Alongside THRASS, our educators integrate Montessori hands-on numeracy and practical life materials with Reggio Emilia inquiry projects. Graduates from our Preschool and Preparatory rooms transition smoothly into Marie Bashir Public School, Strathfield South Public School, St Martha's, St Anne's, St Patrick's, Santa Sabina Del Monte, Meriden, Burwood Public, and PLC Sydney.
